So much is possible for a 7-month old

My children show me what’s possible: a 7-month child old can get their own toys off the shelf to play, help feed themselves anything you put in their hand, help bring a bottle or cup to their mouth to drink, put themselves to sleep and sleep through the night. A 7 month old child can be SO capable, when given the right environment. Grateful for the wisdom of my mother, my siblings and Montessori.

The Montessori Teacher

In traditional schools, the teacher sees the immediate behavior of her pupil…the Montessori teacher is constantly looking for a child who is not yet there. She must have a kind of faith that the child will reveal himself through work. – Montessori

What a pediatrician feeds her baby

I met a pediatrician yesterday with her 8 month-old daughter, who is breastfed, but is often sick. I found out Dr. Mom feeds her jar baby food (organic, too!) everyday. Jars are so convenient for busy moms, but imagine how your body would feel if you ate out of a can or a jar EVERYDAY, 2 meals a day, for 3 months. Real food is so much cheaper and healthier. Steam veges and brown rice, blend. Done.
