Now I’m really excited about observing a Montessori school. Hopefully will get a chance to observe a Chinese one as well! Sorry you had such a rough time. Love seeing the girls grow on your blog. Looking forward to seeing you in person in the near future!
Grace, are you back in Taiwan? Will you be observing there?

Dear Stephanie,
I am doing good, except I miss my husband, who is working in Santa Cruz right now. I did some observation hours at non montessori school in Park Slope with walking child but I will be observing Flat Iron Montessori school, which where my classmate is working. I am so exiting. I am so glad you are back in New York and hope that I will have an opportunity to meet you soon.

Coming to this late, but I wonder if you have suggestions (or could do a post) on helping your girls through so many place/school transitions. We’re looking at two school changes for my two year old this year, and I’m nervous about how to help keep her life stable while changing schools.

Margaret, That’s a great question. I think children adapt VERY QUICKLY. Much more quickly than we do. So firstly, trust in your child’s ability to adapt and let your worries go. I would make sure you are 100% happy with the school and where you are sending her. If you feel confident in the school, your child will feel confident. If you feel skeptical, your child will feel skeptical. I find, mostly, children love their teachers. No matter who they are. No matter how good or bad you think they are! So I think your state of mind will have the most impact on how roughly or smoothly the transition goes…
I am so happy to read your blog again, Stephanie!
Thank you, Pat. I want to know how you are doing!
