Wow this is probably one of my favorite posts so far. Soooo full of vital information. Thank you so much for sharing this! Knox has started to like to take sharp things (scissors, pens) and put them in his mouth. I take it away from him but I know I’m not really focused on what he needs. Actually. I don’t understand why he does it and how I can help him. I don’t want him to put it in his mouth and he gets mad/holds on tight when I take it away. Do you have any ideas?
I like the idea of having him start using a knife (I think I will try with a butter knife first?) to cut up his own food. I will definitely be doing that. And I feel assured now with what I previously did: giving him whole pieces of food for him to try to figure out how to eat. He once took an entire apple from me that was almost half the size of his head and gnawed on it for nearly half an hour. And yes he did manage to eat a chunk out of it! I really enjoyed his concentration then.
This is super helpful for me. I feel like I have been doing the same with this mother with my older son. with my younger one, i am much more relaxed and let him fall and let him try different things without many restrictions, and they turned out quite differently. Thanks for the post. I have to now develop my older boy’s independence, will power and concentration now.

Truly, there is nothing more important than those three things…All I can say is PRACTICAL LIFE, PRACTICAL LIFE, PRACTICAL LIFE.
